Here are some ideas to consider:
- Landscape lights draw very little power and each light uses a relatively thin (low-voltage wire). Most homes can be powered from one box mounted on the outside of your home, which is easily programmed to turn on at dusk and turn off 2,4 or 6 hours later. These can power small floodlights against your home, with pathway or sidewalk lights that will turn your home at night into a showplace.
- Motion lights can be placed in locations you decide and can light up driveways, front sidewalks, play areas or any area you are concerned may need extra coverage or security. Often times these are simple upgrades from existing fixtures.
- Outdoor floodlights in these same areas can also be controlled via a switch, wireless switch or set for dusk-to-dawn.
- Solar security lights are a great way to place lights just about anywhere. These can be placed on lamp posts, sides of buildings, pole barns… you get the idea. These charge during the day and to stay lit all night, every night.
- Upgrading your lights is often one of the simplest and least expensive ways to bring more light to a needed area. The new LED technology brings a host of relatively inexpensive solutions you can consider.
